The School's Water Day

 A day devoted to raising the awareness of and educating primary school pupils (aged 5 to 13) in the importance of preserving water. As a result of educational activities where they learn best practice, children will be better able to sort their waste, understand how waste is recycled, better appreciate their environment – Lake Geneva and its banks, flora and fauna – and learn all about the cycle of water, its rarity and thus the importance of preserving it. Organised at Collonges-Bellerive in 2008, this day can be organised at the request of any institution or commune. The event can revolve around current topics such as the preservation of water, waste management, the 4 Rs (reduce, repare, reuse, recycle); a small clean-up can be organised in consultation with the relevant authorities.
